Where Does My Money Go?
Your Mariposa Neighborhood Association (MNA) is a 501(c)3 organization and requests yearly voluntary dues of $20. Unlike an HOA, the MNA has no other sources of funds other than those donated by members.

General Expenses
Your MNA tries to be very frugal with the monies collected, but there are some things that must be paid for during the year. These expenses are paid from voluntary dues. Some examples include:
State filing fees to maintain status as a 501(c)(3) corporation
Post Office Box fees
Website fees
Printing and communication
Software services
Legal Funds
Your MNA is working to get resident representation on the Mariposa Community Associate (MCA/HOA) board. That board is currently 100% controlled by the developer, Harvard Investments.
The current number of homes/lots that have been purchased dictate that the residents have at least one member on the MCA/HOA board.
The MNA is using resident resources as much as possible to fight for this right, but some legal advice/help is needed to make this happen. Legal help is very expensive and any donations to the legal fund are greatly appreciated.
