Planning & Zoning Board
The Planning and Zoning Board meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. The meeting is held in Council Chambers, Rio Rancho City Hall, 3200 Civic Center Circle.
Mariposa Public Improvement District (PID)
The Mariposa Public Improvement District was established in 2006 by Resolution No. 12 (Enactment No. 06-014), for the purpose of financing a water supply system and waste water treatment facility. The District encompasses approximately 1,465 acres of land, initially planned as a custom home and estate community with approximately 1,650 dwelling units, 30,492 square feet of office space and 69,696 square feet of commercial space. Due to market demands and other outside factors, the District has transitioned to a more traditional neighborhood.

Mariposa Park is located at 2501 Parkway Avenue. Amenities include:
Amphitheater, Basketball Court, Drinking Fountains, Grass Area, Parking Lot, Picnic Table, Play Structures, Shade Structures, Walking Path. The park is dog friendly, but all dogs must be kept on leash.
Pets
The City of Rio Rancho’s animal ordinance number 90.19(D) requires owners to license all cats and dogs annually. Pet licenses are $2.00 for Seniors with Spayed/Neutered Animals, $4.00 for Spayed/Neutered Animal and $25.00 for unaltered Animals. Pet licenses can also be purchased in 3-year increments according to Rabies expiration date.
